What Is Steady After 50?

Steady After 50 is a free weekly newsletter for anyone over 50 who's working on their weight — whether you're on a GLP-1 medication like Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro, or doing it through food and movement alone.

When I started weekly Zepbound shots, I couldn’t find clear, trustworthy guidance made for people over 50 — so I’m building it. Free weekly notes on GLP-1 support, protein, hydration, and movement that fit real life. No hype, no extremes.

I write about the stuff that actually matters once you're past 50: how to protect your muscle while losing weight, how to keep the weight off once you hit your goal, how much protein you actually need, and how to move without wrecking your knees, and more.

Who This Is For

This newsletter is for you if:

  • You're 50+ and trying to lose weight or maintain a loss

  • You're on a GLP-1 medication and want to make the most of it

  • You've lost weight before and gained it back — and you're done with that cycle

  • You want real talk, not diet culture nonsense

What You'll Get

Every Monday, I send one focused piece on nutrition, movement, or maintenance — the three pillars that actually determine whether the weight stays off after 50. No fluff, no fads. Just practical stuff you can use that week

About Alex

I’m new to this experiment but it’s working for me. I started in August of 2025, and I’ve lost over 55 pounds using Zepbound. I started Steady After 50 because I couldn't find a newsletter that talked honestly about what happens after the weight comes off — the muscle loss, the loose skin, the step-down from the medication, the mental shift from losing to maintaining.

I'm not a doctor or a dietitian. I'm someone who is figuring it out. I’ve made mistakes and want to help you skip some of the hard-hitting ones.

Stay steady out there. — Alex
